If it does not trouble shoot at that point, could be: -hold open broken -magazine problem, buy a new mec-gar or borrow known good mags and try them -Mainspring may be too strong- but I doubt it, would be dang near impossible to get in the action Try the full mag to determine loading and ejection reliability.
