My early 1900 DWM American Eagle # 7234 take down lever is marked with the last two digits; the American Eagle # 14124 bears the last two digits on the plate; the older Swiss hasn't got any Bern cross behind the toggle, while my later 1900 military Swiss # 2238 does it but none of the pistols has got the rear sight altered from "V" to "U".
As Lon rightly said the longer I stay in this hobby the less I know... Happy Easter to all.
