So is there any consensus out there regarding the best brand of .30 ammo currently available? Sounds like Fiochi is not at the top of the list.

"Best" is what works in one's pistol; some brands do, some don't in any particular pistol.

Samco's Finn surplus should be loaded to mil specs, but it is 60 years old.

Fiocchi is at the top of my list, cause it works for me; and it is what my local shop has!
