Replacement barrel- Norwegian? or ?

Depends on how you look at it,
I first thought it was something else.

But at the right angle I'm convinced it is an "E".
It appears that it was struck at a slight angle, with the upper right
arm deeper than the lower left corner.

But then, I've been wrong before!
