$700-$900 is very doable. More than that and you're overspending.
If you are looking for a collector piece to shoot, fine, but if you damage it, the collector value could 'shot'...

If I were you I would simlpy look for an unmatching russian capture P.08 dated 1942 in good shape so I wouldn't overspend and I could enjoy it at the range. More to that remember that old Lugers should never be fired with modern high speed and high power ammunition. Shoot safe. Rgds Sergio

IF you are looking for a "Navy" or "Arty" shooter, then you will have to pay more than the 8-900 range. A std P08 Luger in the shooter category will go for $800-1000 in my part of the Country.
