My father, who spent the entire European war in Algiers, had just been deployed via San Francisco and Hawaii to the Japanese theater when this ended things.
I'm probably here today thanks to quickly ending the war in Japan. Each time I visit his field of stones in Arlington, more and more have grown into the distance... Marc
