Is there any complications with the radium sights? I assume it has a limited shelf life? Are they still "hot"?

They are probably still hot but harmless. They emit alpha particles, so unless you open the glass vials that contain the radium and swallow the contents, no sweat. The phosphorescent material that glowed when excited by the alpha particles is long depleted, so the sights do not glow in the dark any more.
