Here Are Pictured The FINEST luger!

http://smith-wessonforum.com/lounge/...us-lugers.html Includes my favorite. We were informed that the beauties belong to our hero and dear friend Ron Wood! Including his Cartridge Counter~WOW!!!!! Eric,

alvin 11-29-2014 08:39 PM

People have these guns in collection must be a forum member?

cirelaw 11-29-2014 08:45 PM

Its probobly from more than one collection and still out there~My Biggest Wish is a 1902 Cartridge Counter~~~

alvin 11-29-2014 09:53 PM

I bet they are from a single collection.

I love that 1936 S/42. Other pieces should go to dedicated Luger collectors. S/42 is more generic fitting broad range of collectors regardless of the domain..

alvin 11-29-2014 10:09 PM

But the more I look at this S/42 picture, the more I feel it's like an auction house picture. Is this in auction? if so, which one?

cirelaw 11-29-2014 10:15 PM

I was informed that all the lugers are from a single owner other than from the person put them together and posted~ I would like to be in his will~ Eric

Alvin,
The author of the post says it's his friend's collection. Great pics. The poster also lives in Arizona, if that is a clue. The post is a couple of years old, but you could join and PM that member, and perhaps get an answer to your question.

Ron Wood 11-29-2014 10:40 PM

They are my guns and John is a friend of very long acquaintance (I can't say "old friend" because he is the same age as me!) :)

cirelaw 11-29-2014 10:47 PM

Ron, WOW!

I'm so glad they are yours! SIMPLY BEAUTIFUL~~~How many years have you been collecting and what was your first luger?

alvin 11-29-2014 10:52 PM

Let me take a guess...

Arizona... who's in AZ... Eric is in Florida, and he is dreaming the CC, cannot be him. You're in NY. Ed's in .. I forgot where, but definitely not AZ, and he collects Simson... Postino, no, he only plays gunsmith... If this is Ron's guns, that fit, but he's in New Mexico...Jerry? he's in Arizona... these are frequent posters ... or, if from a infrequent poster, then I cannot guess :)

Arizona is right next to New Mexico (John and I both used to live in El Paso, TX)

Ron:
Some very nice iron, indeed.
Is there any complications with the radium sights? I assume it has a limited shelf life? Are they still "hot"?

They are probably still hot but harmless. They emit alpha particles, so unless you open the glass vials that contain the radium and swallow the contents, no sweat. The phosphorescent material that glowed when excited by the alpha particles is long depleted, so the sights do not glow in the dark any more.
