Curious that your pigskin holster's spare magazine pouch does not have the cutouts to accommodate the Luger magazine's base plug knobs. I know some late-post war holsters were designed to accommodate either pistol.

If you look closely, the mag pouch has been modified.

Ken's right - we just don't know when the modification happened.
The altered edging is a very similar finish to the original edging of rest of the holster and hasn't been left 'in the rough'.
