You are totally correct about the different dialects in the US and the same is on Germnay. Speaking of dialect, I saw a "Judge Judy" show on TV and there was a trial by two families from Alabama. The dialect spoken by them was difficult for me to follow and I am from South Carolina. I am sure anyone above the Mason Dixon Line would have a very hard time understanding the meaning of what they were saying. If I had not listened closely I would have been lost in the meaning of the sentence structure. Marvin |
