let me direct you to junglejims thread about Lugerman.com...I read this whole thread and took a close look at the pictures. The wood on these pics is horrible. Looks like Georgia pine. Dead looking with no color. Plus the grip fit is way out of spec. Whoever is doing this guy's woodwork isn't up to 1920 standards.

When he took the stock pictures it was still drying

I figured he just finished the wood and it needed to dry or cure or
whatever so it would not be "sticky".

Sorry all - I picked up the carbine around noon my time, spent an hour and a half at Eugenes, then an hour drive home, then visited with some friends, showed them my carbine, took pictures and spent time with the wife.

Stock had a final coat of True-oil (?) and it was finishing drying when he took the pictures.

I have posted the carbine in the Post WW2 section, because its a custom luger

Thanks, Ed...IOS 7 seems to have some warts, though it is very pretty. If you have not yet transitioned, probably wise to wait a bit until they are worked out. This issue seems to be one of them. There are ways to send images, but rather obtuse, to say the least and it must be done in some format I am yet to figure out.

So be on the look out for a straight forward email with included photos, that I emailed to myself (Ipad will do that!)

Your assistance is greatly appreciated, past and present!

Mine. though I sourced the barrel and sights from Eugene and copied the extension from one of his blanks that he also supplied, since I ended up wanting a longer one to use with my longer forend and to fabricate one was easy having his to use as a basic pattern to begin with.

Incidentally, as you can see from the straight pin, installation of latch and associated spring no different than with an unmodified frame, albeit requiring a bit more finger dexterity.
