I was surprised at the comments you recieved when you first joined... Which from my perception (yours might have seen a different view), was little to no comments. Made me proud of the membership. I took it that folks figured you were here, asking real questions and shared a love of the Luger.

Pretty much - I had the occasional comment or question - and several PMs - but it really started getting interesting in the grip thread, so I thought it was a good idea to start this thread just to satisfy people's curiosity. When a weird guy like me comes onto a firearms forum - there's gonna be some surprise!

Its all good - I'm just very gratified at the wealth of knowledge found here - and the depth of consensus. Which is what prompted me to immediately become a patron - something I don't usually do, but this forum deserves it.

If you wanna see a flamewar, try one of the Piano boards sometime - nobody can agree on anything, and it turns into a pitched battle with fixed bayonets more often than not. None of that here!

Had to look for Johnny Carson and the marmoset. This link has Carson and the marmoset, at about 1:30 in, after Carson and McMahon mugging and having fun.

Seems like the link is like TV in that it keeps playing. After Carson and the marmoset, there's a memorial to Gregory Peck with scenes from To Kill A Mockingbird, then an old ad for the Cabinet of Dr. Caligari, and that's as far as I went.

Carson and marmoset made me laugh!

Sorry, I like to use "we" extensively in my posts as well. Give myself a feeling that I am not alone. Feel better that way. Actually, 80% of time, "we" really means "I" in my posts Just realized that.

Return to the original topic, Zorba's career is exciting. I dreamed I could do some unusual thing when I was a kid, but I could never break conventional lifestyle in decades. Feel boring on myself.

Its a long story - but the executive summary is this:

In 1996 my wife and I learned Greek folk dance - my very first experience with dance of any kind. Yea, I was a typical male with a typical male's excuse "I have 2 left feet". Well, I pretty much did, my experiences learning Greek dancing weren't pretty - but I fell in love with it, and several years later I was actually *teaching* Greek dance to a small group of co-workers once a week at noon.

One of them was a Belly Dancer. One day she called and asked me to come down to where we had our class a bit early as she wanted me to see her very first Belly Dance solo - and wanted my opinion. "I don't know anything about Belly Dance" I told her. "It doesn't matter, you're a *dancer*" came her reply.

So I watched her go through her solo several times. I loved the beauty, and I loved the connection with the music. "I have *got* to do this!" I said to myself, "I want this beauty for myself.".

So, I went to my first class, and the rest is history.

The 101st never burnt down any PX's either! The 173rd has that honor.. We weren't banned from every R&R post in Viet Nam for wearing silk panties! Didn't the 101 go leg?

C96 weenies are all busy on relining bores Everyone has the same question "how to contact Broomhandle Closet, what's the cost, how is the quality, etc". Each C&R has each C&R's feature story. Not many Lugers have that type of bore.

I wish I could just dance! I went into a home depot and bought a few sheets of plywood.. when the cashier was looking for the UPC symbols.. I couldn't help her lift the plywood.. I told her I suffered from ABNB, and was not alone in this world.. She said, I'm so sorry, and, she asked what is that??
I replied, "All Belly & No Butt! My pants fall down if I bend over!! .. I think we have a great forum and all the members are a very diverse lot... except for those paratroopers... ....( Jerry & Ed) With whom I'm also very close!!! Best to all, til...lat'r....GT
