The Zorba thread.

Since my rather unusual "nighttime profession", mode of dress, and other eccentricities have generated considerable - and totally understandable - interest here: I felt it best to create a thread for the purpose of Q&A, general WTFing, and poking fun.

This will hopefully help keep my other threads/questions more on topic, particularly Odd markings inside grip. If a moderator wants to move the relevant portions of that thread here, feel free!

So bring on the questions/comments/concerns/fun poking - I have a thick skin and am hard to offend!

You do seem to weather the slings and arrows well.

Its just a rather large (silk) hairflower. That picture was taken on "formal nite" on a cruise my wife and I were on.

Unless, of course, you were joking me about my hair!:bigbye:

Here I thought people were wondering why Zorba was Greek when actually the movie was filmed on Crete and never call a Cretan a Greek............................

Zormpas, personally I would like to say "welcome aboard", you are obviously a person that is not easily offended and doesn't seem to have an elevated opinion of yourself, traits that I admire in a person. very commendable.

It's not that we dislike you, I find the posts amusing. Just try to understand a Luger toting male belly dancer is hard for some of us older guys to comprehend.

Yes. Many years ago, Johnny Carson [rip] did The Tonight Show, and regularly had an animal handler/zoologist (?) from the LA Zoo on...One night they had a marmoset, which got scared & skittery and ended up clinging to Johnny's head...There is probably a pic on the Net somewhere, it was quite funny...That is what I thought of when I first saw your avatar... :roflmao:

Oh, I *TOTALLY* get that (!!), that's why I figured it'd be a good thing (tm) to start a thread like this. I find the various posts amusing myself, but thinking it might be better to separate this subject from "Luger grips".

Nuts, most people have problems understanding a male Belly Dancer in the first place! I'll never forget the time I was performing in a student troupe - everyone else were gals, of course. Afterwards, a member of the local C&W "HillBilly" band who was up on stage after us came over and asked "Did you lose a bet?". My first thought was "Oh God, I hope my dancing was better than *that*" - but I'd seen them in the audience during our performance, it was fairly obvious what they were talking about!

Thank you for your kind words - My #1 rule is "If you're gonna be weird, you need to have a sense of humor!".

Crete is just about my most favorite place in the world.

Zorba,

I think you just enjoy your body, and the attention...

I'm also glad you're interested in collecting Luger...

If I were in good enough shape to belly dance, I'd probably enjoy it too!

I concur 200%....................food, History, temps and people are great. Found nothing wrong with the place. I had hopes to retire there but things didn't work out. Bluest and crystal clear water I had ever seen anywhere.

So what is your "daytime" profession?

Ok, NOW I'm starting to wonder about you!!

:roflmao:

Yeah, the night job is unusual. But that also reveals guns in general, and Lugers in particular, have very broad social base in the U.S.

I know how he feels, I moonlighted as a Chippendale at night and a Drill Sergeant during the day. Long hours but the rewards were the best!!!!
