The "flaming bomb" resembles the Taurus zodiac symbol, but it is not the same. The "flames" are not symmetric. Although the symbol that the DWM inspector chose to use is an ordnance bomb it has nothing to do with the US or any other ordnance operation. The marking was used widely on early DWM produced Lugers and magazines, not just the 1900 Test Trials pieces. Folks like to pair up flaming bomb magazines with the Test Lugers, but a plain unmarked wood base magazine is just as correct, perhaps even more so.
