These police qualification badges have been extensively, and very cleverly, reproduced in the past few years. And, as you point out, are outrageously expensive for the fact that they are simply qualification badges and not combat awards like the Knights Cross and German Cross. The Frontkampfer award with swords is visible proof that the recepient served at the Front in WWI. Yet these awards can be bought on today's market for under $50.

Well, I once tried to built a Polizei display.
This plan is currently on hold, as there are other priorities. Here is what I got so far: Medal Bar and Ribbon bar, with Iron Cross (1914) 2nd Class, Honor Cross 1914-1918 for Fighters and the Eighteen Years Long Service Cross; shoulder boards and collar tabs for a Meister der Gendarmerie (rural Police) Hope you enjoy it.
