The M.G. units you mentioned above were Maschinen Gewehr Kompagnien (M.G.K.) and not Maschinen Gewehr Trupps (M.G.Tr.) There were a lot of different M.G. units in the old Army: M.G.A.; M.G.SSch.A. and so on.
