The mag release spring is too short. It looks like someone either broke a sliver of one end and replaced it into its slot with the broken end trimmed and radiused, or they used a flat piece of steel to substitute for a lost original. Originals are not that silver color, they are heat treated blue.
A new spring from Luger Doc should fix that cheaply. Don't worry about magazine drop. That may be a function of the bad mag catch spring, the loose grips or simply a mag that does not drop. Try a couple of others mags, once you replace the catch spring and remove the grips. Some mags drop in a particular Luger, others don't. Loose grips can usually be tightened up by placing a really small "o" ring around each grip screw. Your toggle not staying open may be a missing hold open or a bad hold open spring. Just the spring is a simple fix. A damaged hold open with a chipped edge will be a bit more expensive. Everything on your list should be fixable for well under $100. |
