Edwin, I wouldn't want the $250 dagger on Wittmans site either! Even though it has a scabbard and hanger. I am not a 100% condition collector but I am not a rusted 5% collector either..

The second so called mint dagger Wittman has for $2500 looks funny to me on quite a number of counts..the tip looks dull, the scabbard looks like a re paint and the handle is badly chipped.

The RZM daggers were second string..they cheapened them up, plated zink crossguards instead of solid nickel and they are not nearly as nice or coveted as the earlier dagger, Gau and maker marked.

Like I say..$50 tops for me and that's because it has a nice wooden handle from what I can see. Might not be as nice in hand. I would rather save my money and get a fairly decent/complete example.

Nor would I. I'm surprised to see the prices for SA daggers have drop so much over the years. They were cheap back in the 60s and 70s (in Germany) compared to what they were in the 80s and 90s.

This one above has seen better days but with some proper cleaning, it could have cleaned up a bit, especially the blade. You have to admit, the dagger compared to the one on Wittmanns is in better shape.

I'm not into daggers anymore, that's why it's surprising to me to see them so low in value.
