yes, I have been on the merry-go-round where someone shows a lot of different guns trying to get opinions

You lost me - why is showing pics of different guns in an attempt to elicit opinions a bad thing? I'm looking to start a modest collection and it would seem that asking the experts prior to a purchase would be a prudent thing to do.
