Angus,

Yes, I'm in Brazil. Because of our very strange laws concerning firearms, I guess our market is not a good parameter. This one came in for an unbelievable low price, the the former owner was leaving the hobby.

The MM34 is a fully automatic weapon and this one is a live gun. Civilians are allowed to own a full auto if it was made before 1945 and if you have a permission (a Collector License) of the Brazilian Army. On the other hand, mind you that we are not allowed to carry anything bigger than a .380ACP auto for selfdefense on a day-by-day situation.

My research about the MM34 still runs. As far as I know there are even some doubts who made them, but it is sure that only a few hundred were assembled. For further info and pictures, check this old topic:
