yeah, i was thinking on the sideplate, the screw head could be cut off flush, the threaded part loctited into place, and maybe just barely tapped with a TIG weld, and resurfaced, then the whole gun stripped and rust blued......are these 1908 models scarce enough to make the effort worthwhile, if it can be bought cheap? (factoring in doing the work myself, not farming it out)
