Is the takedown tool proofed?Is the stock broken next to the stock iron?

Please excuse my ignorance as I'm not a gun guy - not sure what proofed means on this. If it's regarding whether it works, everything looks like it was made but the gun was long gone before I was born and so never had a chance to try it. There is a chip in the wood next to the iron as shown - it's well weathered, looks like it's been there near forever, the wood is NOT cracked and is very strong in the hand. |
