Hope is on the horizon... Jan Still is preparing a revision to "Third Reich Lugers".
May be out in a few months, his last releases were available for just under a hundred bucks (of course past performance is no guarantee of future results ).Your serial number appears to be out of the range of the third variation. Serial no. 2917 ns looks like it belongs in the SE655 SE655 range. Can you post pictures?
