My Luger is a Mauser dated 1939 with the number "42" on the toggle. Serial number is 1601 with "u" suffix. I know some magazines have had the aluminum knob sanded down and new numbers inscribed. The magazine that I currently have with the gun is 6914 h. It's my understanding that there were two magazines produced per gun. Let me know what you find out.
