Definitely!

That is exactly what I do...And then use an undersized dovetail cutter (3/16" in the case of Luger/Walther) and conventional mill the first side (there will be a bit of climb milling on the other side, but this is pretty much unavoidable with a dovetail cutter) and then conventional mill the other side...Using only the sides of the dovetail cutter to actually cut (the bottom is already cut with the end mill)...

I just ordered Harvey's 40º x 3/16" dovetail cutter...

wow, thanks again!! that post you linked to had everything i needed to know, i wanted an excuse to get a rotary head/table and now i have one!
