The threaded holes in the grips were designed to hold the grip screws so they would not get lost. You can see the holes in these grips are way too big to hold the grip screws securely

Doug... If you have Don and Joops THE MAUSER PARABELLUM you might read my comments on page 657 about the holes in the grips.
When I first started the study on black grips I thought the holes were for the screws but IMO they were the function of how they removed the grips from the molds and the fact that SOME of the holes will actually take a grip screw is coincidental.
