,Yes, the label was applied over the cord in order to act like a seal. It is immediately clear that the package has not been opened. Eric, The 471 is indeed 'commercial' ammunition: not procured by the army, but possibly by other branches (police), as well as foreign commercial contracts and normal export and gun shop sales. This box style, together with the serif-style DWM logo on the cases points towards production between 1900 - 1920. I have a similar box, sadly empty, over here. I think it is completely correct in your test luger display. |
