I'm aware that a 6'Oclock hold is for target shooting, because I assumed he was interested in shooting targets.

If you're going on a "Drive-By" point center body mass slightly low. Most people tend to shoot high in a stress situation. Tunnel vision brought on by the adrenaline rush will focus you on your target, and you won't see the sights anyway. Same-Same in Combat.
