and the stub of the knob was then serrated like the safety lever. So it is possible that it is the original takedown lever that has been "modified" (butchered is such an ugly word Luke!) Does it appear that the "handle" has been soldered or otherwise attached to the shaft of the takedown lever, or is it one piece?
My opinion: attached = made from a safety lever or scrap metal. one piece = filed down and serrated original lever. regards, John |
