Fred,
I see that the first two digits of the S#, '71' are stamped on the inside of the sideplate. I thought Mauser stamped the first two digits +one. In this case it would be '72'. Is there a transition (serial # range) from one way to the other? PS. I don't have Still's Third Reich Lugers. I'm waiting for the rewrite, and also Joop's upcoming Mauser Luger book.
