Luger marking instructions call for 1.G.G. as the format for the 1st Garde Grenadier Regiment. Gortz German Small Arms Markings (page 20, 40) identifies this as "Kaiser Alexander Garde -Grenader-Regiment Nr 1". Have never seen (nor has such been reported) a Luger marked KAGGR / KAGGR1. However, I have a spiked helmet marked KAGGR1 / IB Only small arms were subject to markings regulations. The unit markings instructions do not include honor names on pistols. However, such are rarely observed. Jan All this information is in a book and not on the net. Last edited by Jan C Still; 09-22-2009 at 02:35 AM. |
