This a somewhat unusual Reichswehr unit mark. I believe P.D. translates to Pferde (Horse) Depot . The G could represent Gerät (equipment), or most probably, the city / town where it was located, such as Glatz or Grafenwöhr. And 42 being the weapon number. Ron
