OK guys, I tired my best, but it seems nothing is going right tonight. I drove back from Atlanta today and very anxious get these pictures on. But as luck will have it, anything that could go wrong did. I borrowed a very cheap camera, so excuse the poor quality. The Luger actually looks nearly new, but the pictures do it no justice.
To BOGEYB: So you live in Atlanta, and you want to know which pawn shop? Well, it is the one across the tracks. Also, I have had some discussion away from the forum concering the black plasic grips on a 1940 dated 42 code. According to Mr.Still, 2% were so equipped. Besides if you look at the picture of the underside of grips, you can see they are very dirty. I actully had to remove a spiderweb from one. The Luger was stored in the holster with the mag out of the pistol, making a perfect entrance for dirt and insects. And it was quite a task to just remove the grips. I had to very carefully pry them off with a thin blade knife. This coupled with the fact that the original loading tool was still in place, says something about originality. Many thanks for the replies and interest. Mike |
