The only two XX49 Test Lugers I have in the data base are 6249 and 7049. Any chance your Luger is one of those? If it isn't, I would really appreciate knowing the full serial number so that I can add it to the data. It certainly sounds like a keeper, but if you want to throw it away, I'll take it!
U.S. Test Trial Lugers are frequently mis-matched. Photos would help in evaluating it and determining if the replaced parts are vintage 1900.
