Ron, I may not have done it right before. Anyway here goes again. I picked up a 1917 - 1920 DWM double date luger at our local show last fall. I have had it stuck away until now. It is all matching about 95% overall. In taking a more careful look at it , the proof on the front of the trigger guard is different than any I have previously encountered. The closest I can find to it is in Costanzos World of Lugers Proof Marks #1. page #327 #4 figure. The eagle proof on my Luger differs from that one in that it has a full body outline, 3 feather tail and full legs, not the stick leg. The proof in Costanzos book is from a Erfurt, where mine is from a DWM. Can you shed some light on this interesting proof ? Thanks Larry
