Thanks for the advice. I'll pick up the Danish oil on my next trip to the store. I've just purchased this gun, and at this point, it's the only Luger I have. I might be willing to send it away for custom grips, but not until the new wears off. A set of the black plastic grips might be a good idea. I could take the stock grips off and put them away for safe keeping. I've owned seven other Lugers if you count the .22s. In fact, my first gun, at the tender age of 16, was an Erma EP-22. Although the new gun is still in the cosmoline, it's not going to stay that way. First nice day, it's going to the range.
