I guess it gets the moniker Navy just because it has the 6" Navy barrel. Obviously, the Stoeger was never issued to the navy. I had to have the 6" barrelled Luger because I just thought the 6" barrel looked so much cooler than the 100mm (4" barrel). Altho I did not succumb to the bigger is better, I couldn't convince myself that I had to have the artillery length barrel.
