Ron,

I concur with Ed's assessment that the gun has been refinished and enhanced with a "matching" DWM side plate. In addition, the gun appears to have been buffed fairly heavily. Note the rounded corners, and most especially the obliterated rectangular to round chamfer at the front of the receiver and the completely buffed out Erfurt eagle in front of the other proof marks. In addition, there should be Erfurt proofmarks on the extractor and front sight which are not visible in the photos but may be present. Sorry but this is not a collector grade luger. FYI, I have a buffed, mismatched 1911 Erfurt as well - a nice shooter. The great thing about shooters is that you can shoot them - enjoy. KFS
