Ron, if all original then $1k is a heck of a deal. However, I would say it has been reblued and restrawed. The strawing appears too nice for a 95 year old gun IMHO and blueing is awfully nice too. Also, the sideplate should have an Erfurt acceptance marking, it would look like the one on the front of the triggerguard.
The grips appear to be nice wood ones to me, a picture from the rear would prove or disprove that. There were 10,000 1911 Erfurt's made, so not a common gun to pick up. Ed
