ok....i am well aware of the fact that Americans coined the term Black Widow for the some 20% of byf Mauser P.08's that received black bakelite grips, instead of the usual walnut, when war shortages of wood occured.
If you feel there are serial #'s attributed to so called Black Widows, please share them, as all the research I have done says there were NO serial #'s attributed to so called BW's, it was random, and no serial #'s were marked on the grips to match the gun's serial #, as it would weaken the integrity of the bakelite. Sorry the europee'ons frown on the term Black Widow. I still enjoy Mauser Luger P.08's that are "all black". cheers |
