Bob,

I checked with Bill Adair about 2 weeks ago. His back-log run about 6 mos. and he requires the gun to be there.

Grips and magazine can stay at your place.

He quoted a ball-park price for me on an 1913 Erfurt shooter...around $ 380 rust blue and straw. Final price is nailed done when he sees your piece in person and can gauge pitting conditions, etc. and if any stampings need to be touched-up...etc.

He will give you a final price before he starts the work. Payment is not due until he is ready to send it back.

I suspect most of the busy restoration artist want to have your gun in the shop and they may decide to work on yours when other guns, similar to yours, may be in the shop at the same time and all can be worked on in small batches.

p.s. Another fellow to look into might be Art Buchanan. I think he lives in MO State, but I am not sure if he is taking new work or not...nor his fees for work.
