Duane,

The wrong sight on the barrel is an easy thing to fix. Stefan Mahrer in Switzerland sells the "right" sight blade for the 4-3/4" pencil barrel and you see them on eBay and eGun all the time.

Ron Wood has seen lots more lugers that I. If the "Germany" stamping is documented to be done both before or after bluing, then this may not be an issue. I have seen about 25 or so "Germany" stamped lugers in person and those all had some "halo" effect around the stamping.

I would certainly ask for more photos of what looks like the "chip" out of the metal along the right side of rear of the receiver. It may or may not be anything...

But since I shoot every luger I buy, I would certainly want to know about what appears to be a "chip". If it is a "chip", I am not sure how safe it would be to shoot...

If there is no "chip"...and I were after this one, I think my maximum bid would be $ 1650 or so...but my wife says I am cheap...
