Default Please Help ID this SOG Luger

I just got this from sog. the markings are as follows
on the action: S/42
on the top of the frame: 1917 (im guessing the date)
left side has SN: 10XX over another number 75XX
the barrel has what looks like a M over a _ over a X with a little line througth the center and 8.83 (bore I.D.?) i am attaching a pic of the right side markings. From what i have read from other posts about the SOG guns its a east german refinish, but i would like to know what kind of finish it would have had originally. BTW if you are going to get one of these there is a dot matrix style stamping with the importer name on the left side of the frame and the bore shows mild scale, and i was told most are like this. Thanks
