WWII Luger
Hi Folks:
Thanks for the help so far on my 1917 Luger. Now, on another subject: My father-in-law brought back a Luger from Germany in WWII. I don't remember specifics, and the pistol is 800 miles from me so hard to look at. I do remember it had a grip safety. Anyway, last summer my son was shooting it, (out in some sagebrush) and the front sight must have been loose because upon recoil from one shot, it flew off. They looked all over, but couldn't find it. My questions are, are there different sights? Do I need more info in order to find a replacement? And does anyone out there have an extra front sight, or know where I might find one? I don't hold out much hope of ever owning this pistol; my brother-in-law grabbed onto both it and the Walther pistol that was with it. Doesn't shoot them; they just gather dust in a cupboard and the only time they get looked at is when either I or my boys are visiting, but for some reason he would rather have them in the cupboard than have his sister's boys enjoy them. Oh well. Anyhow, I do want to find a replacement sight if possible. Thanks Ken
