Default Police Haenel Schmeisser Magazine

Over the weekend I obtained a Haenel Schmeisser Patent marked magazine, which has an eagle / L stamp next to the markings.

It also has, what I have seen referred to as a 'dove' stamp, on the base.

I have read the 'dove' is a pre Nazi marking, but also that the 'eagle / L was used from late 1939 through to 1942. So I am at a loss why the two would be found on the same magazine, unless the base is not the original for the magazine?

Stay safe
Richard
