Police Haenel Schmeisser Magazine
2 Attachment(s)
Over the weekend I obtained a Haenel Schmeisser Patent marked magazine, which has an eagle / L stamp next to the markings.
It also has, what I have seen referred to as a 'dove' stamp, on the base. I have read the 'dove' is a pre Nazi marking, but also that the 'eagle / L was used from late 1939 through to 1942. So I am at a loss why the two would be found on the same magazine, unless the base is not the original for the magazine? Stay safe Richard |
Perhaps an older base with a new mag body? Armorer rework?

G2,
That is what came to my mind, when I was thinking about it. |
Looking further into the matter, I have found another similar magazine listed on a well known dealers website in the US.
This one has its ‘Haenel Schmeisser Patent’ markings in the same place as mine on the magazine tube, but without the eagle/ L. The base is identical though, obviously with a different serial number. Stay safe Richard |
I can't remember ever seeing an eagle L stamped there on the body.... The FXO had the eagle 37, but police - anything is possible, but as said above, its a older base on a supposed newer body.

Here are a couple of photos of the other ‘Haenel Schmeisser Patent’ marked magazine I mentioned, without the eagle/L. But as you can see, it has the same 'dove' stamp on the base. Attachment 81062 Attachment 81063 Richard |
