Hello all!
This place has been such a treasure trove of information, I used it extensively when selecting a Luger for purchase. I decided long ago that being as I'm young, I would seek out shooter examples of guns and decide if I want to collect a particular type down the road some ways. This is a perfect companion to the 1917 Erfurt 98AZ I also own and was a major driving factor in why I decided I'd want an Erfurt Luger as well. After getting this Luger, I am now prowling for its old arch nemesis from the German Army trials: The C96! Here is an album of the beast: (EDIT: attached some photos. Some additional shots can be found at the album as there were only so many slots to add pictures) 1916 Erfurt P.08 I paid $1300 all said and done. The non matching parts are the magazine (numbered to 1433, has a Police #1 and last 2 digits of my gun stamped into the bottom face of the floorplate, is a Berlin Police Academy magazine from what I'm able to find on it, not pictured here but will add a picture later as I'm able), rear axle pin (numbered 78), hold open (also numbered 78), right grip is a WW2 replacement numbered to match with Waffenampt proofs, and barrel. The barrel is a particular mystery to me, as it is minty fresh bore wise, and has only got the mysterious stampings "E P 3" which I am woefully unable to take a decent picture of. Can anyone see something I'm missing here? I'm dying to learn all I can about this awesome relic from 1916. Thanks in advanced! Last edited by rwest93; 05-01-2017 at 09:35 PM. |
