The gun has been reworked. It probably was a police or armory rebuild that refinished a heavily worn or rusted gun, replaced the barrel and added the serial number in accordance with their rebuild numbering system. For all practical purposes number is not necessarily "fake", just not original, and is now the serial number that the gun will wear from here on out.
