Caraway Sauerkraut with Sausage Recipe By : The Orbit German Restaurant, Chicago IL 1997 Serving Size : 4 Preparation Time :45 Categories : Ethnic German Sausage Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 4 slices smoked bacon -- 1/4" slices 1 onion -- chopped fine 1 pound jar sauerkraut -- rinsed,drained 2 cups white wine -- dry 3/4 cup chicken stock 2 teaspoons caraway seeds 1 teaspoon sugar 1 1/2 pounds sausage links Drain and thoroughly rinse sauerkraut and set aside. Cook bacon until crisp, remove and crumble bacon, set aside. To fat in pan, add sauerkraut, caraway seeds, sugar, and wine. Simmer until all liquid evaporates. Stir in the crumbled bacon.
