That little pin in the toggle...

When examining my newly acquired basket case, I saw that the pin that holds the "knee joint" pin in place was gone. Upon closer examination, I found that the large pin was some kind of home made contraption, so I made a new one.

Now I need to go through my junk to find a small pin to hold in place. Does anybody know the dimensions, diameter and length, so I know what to look for? It would also be good to know how to install it, I assume that it goes in far enough to lock the pin in place, but not far enough to hit the extension rail?
